SANYO ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a seasoned engineer to support the Engineering / Maintenance section, planning, organizing, and managing plant engineering and maintenance activities to keep mechanical, electrical, and process systems safe, efficient, and compliant.

You will perform inspections, coordinate with vendors, assist in troubleshooting, and provide 24/7 emergency support to minimise downtime and ensure reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Process / Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering or maintenance experience in a Process Plant, Chemical Plant, Petrochemical Plant, Oil & Gas facility, or Marine Industry.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance practices, engineering standards, safety requirements, and permit-to-work systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and engineering advice for plant equipment, machinery, mechanical, electrical, and associated plant systems.
  • Conduct engineering inspections, maintenance audits, and technical assessments to identify improvement, upgrading, reliability, and maintenance opportunities within the process plant.
  • Ensure all plant equipment defects, breakdowns, failures, and maintenance issues are attended to promptly, with minimum disruption to plant operations and minimum recovery time.
  • Monitor and ensure that vendors, contractors, and subcontractors perform their work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, approved procedures, specifications, and relevant authority requirements.
  • Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for plant equipment and systems; ensure maintenance and engineering activities are carried out in accordance with approved work procedures, risk assessments, permit-to-work requirements, and applicable safety standards.
  • Compile, collate, and analyse plant operational, maintenance, inspection, and equipment performance data to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions to improve plant reliability and availability.
  • Be available on a 24/7 emergency response basis and attend to critical plant breakdowns, equipment failures, safety-related incidents, and other emergency situations when required.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and provide technical support, troubleshooting, coordination, and recovery assistance to minimise plant downtime and operational disruption.
  • Provide technical support for other engineering, maintenance, and plant-related activities as required.

Job description

This role supports the Engineering / Maintenance section in planning, organizing, and managing plant engineering and maintenance activities to ensure that all mechanical, electrical, equipment, and plant systems operate safely, efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with company / Client standards and relevant statutory requirements.

Job Requirements:
  • Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical / Process / Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering or maintenance experience in a Process Plant, Chemical Plant, Petrochemical Plant, Oil & Gas facility, or Marine Industry.
  • Candidates with strong experience in Process Plant, Chemical Plant, or Marine Industry will be considered.
  • Experience in plant maintenance, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, shutdowns, turnarounds, or plant modification works will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance practices, engineering standards, safety requirements, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Required to participate in a 24/7 emergency standby and call-out arrangement and attend the plant when emergency support is required.
  • Able to provide shift-duty, emergency response, and after-hours maintenance support when required.
