Job summary

Goltens Toei Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a skilled machinist to operate conventional horizontal lathes, milling, drilling, and grinding machines.

You will read engineering drawings, set up workpieces, and ensure parts meet exact specifications with a focus on quality. The role requires a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, strict adherence to safety rules, PPE usage, and a disciplined approach to self-inspection and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ relevant experience are required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality per requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with PPE rules.
• Perform daily basic checks and preventative maintenance on machines.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Operate conventional horizontal lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and grinding machines, with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Possess good knowledge of cutting tools, tool applications, fixtures, part setting, and machine setting for different workpiece sizes.
• Able to accurately and efficiently machine parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents to determine appropriate repair parts, machining requirements, and repair procedures.
• Inspect completed workpieces to ensure accuracy, quality, and successful completion of the required repair or machining work.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area on a daily basis.
• Conduct daily preventive maintenance and basic checks on machine tools.
• Properly organize, maintain, and store machining fixtures and tools for future use.
• Identify parts that require replacement and coordinate the ordering of parts or repair services as necessary.
• Assist the Workshop Supervisor and Technical Director in completing assigned work scopes within the required timeframe.
• Perform self-inspection and quality checks on completed workpieces before submission.
• Manage time effectively and coordinate all aspects of assigned jobs as directed by the Supervisor or Technical Manager.
• Demonstrate effective job planning, prioritization, and time management to meet required deadlines.
• Carry out all work in compliance with applicable workplace safety and health (WSH) requirements and ensure all prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) is properly used.
• Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Manager or Management.
