• Able to read equipment layouts, engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in factory equipment relocation and installation activities.
• Coordinate with machinery movers, contractors, vendors and internal departments.
• Oversee equipment dismantling, shifting, delivery, positioning and installation.
• Check foundations, access routes and installation areas are ready.
• Monitor alignment, levelling, anchoring and mechanical connections.
• Coordinate disconnection and reconnection of equipment utilities.
• Assist with lifting, rigging and machinery-moving activities.
• Monitor progress and report delays or issues to the Project Manager.
• Support equipment testing, trial runs and recommissioning.
• Identify installation defects and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain installation records, checklists and progress updates.
• Ensure all works comply with site safety requirements and permit-to-work procedures.

Position Overview:

The Mechanical Technician will support the Project Manager and construction team in the installation and relocation of machinery and factory equipment at the new facility. The role is mainly responsible for onsite coordination, supervision of installation works and ensuring that equipment is installed safely and correctly.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager in factory equipment relocation and installation activities.
• Coordinate with machinery movers, contractors, vendors and internal departments.
• Oversee equipment dismantling, shifting, delivery, positioning and installation.
• Check that equipment foundations, access routes and installation areas are ready.
• Monitor equipment alignment, levelling, anchoring and mechanical connections.
• Coordinate the disconnection and reconnection of equipment utilities.
• Assist with lifting, rigging and machinery-moving activities.
• Monitor contractors' work progress and report delays or issues to the Project Manager.
• Support equipment testing, trial runs and recommissioning.
• Identify installation defects and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain basic installation records, checklists and progress updates.
• Ensure all works comply with site safety requirements, lifting plans and permit-to-work procedures.
• Carry out other onsite technical duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications &Experience:

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in factory relocation, machinery installation, industrial projects or equipment commissioning.
• Experience in manufacturing facilities or new factory setup is preferred.
• Knowledge of equipment lifting, shifting, installation, utility connections and recommissioning.
• Able to read equipment layouts, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
