BIOTRONIK Singapore is seeking a Senior Technician (Equipment Engineering) to provide technical support for production operations, including transfer, documentation and repair, and to assist installation and training activities to ensure proper operation.

The role involves optimizing facility infrastructure, supporting TPM and continuous improvement projects, collaborating with engineers and vendors, and performing shift work plus travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; Higher NITEC with 4+ years preferred.
  • Preferably experience in medical device manufacturing.
  • Technical background in electronics or manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level troubleshooting and resolve equipment-related stoppages.
  • Minimise downtime to meet target output and yield.
  • Document and report production line stoppages due to equipment.
  • Monitor machine output to ensure required standards.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping at workstations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production on process improvements.
  • Train operators and technicians on equipment operation.
  • Able to work shifts and travel as required.

Job description

The Senior Technician (Equipment Engineering) is responsible, as member of the Operations Engineering team, to provide technical support for production operations in meeting output and quality. This includes transfer, documentation and repair. Furthermore, the Senior Technician will support the Equipment Engineer in required installation and training activities to ensure the processes will be correctly operated. Also, his/her expertise will be required to optimize the infrastructure of the facility.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide first level troubleshooting and resolve production stoppages due to equipment issues.
  • Minimise equipment downtime and ensure production meets target output and yield.
  • Document and report all production line stoppages due to equipment or technical issues.
  • Monitor machine output and ensure the required standards are met.
  • Replenish production auxiliary materials and tools in the respective workstations.
  • Perform process control check where necessary.
  • Participate in and execute preventive maintenance and calibration activities for production and measuring equipment.
  • Ensure workstations are in excellent housekeeping conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production in continuous process improvement projects.
  • Maintain and build up relationships with local vendors.
  • Train and educate operators and technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Able to perform shift work as and when necessary.
  • Able to travel as necessary.
Technical Competency
Lean Manufacturing:
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts.
  • 5S, 7-Mudas and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Poka Yoke, Single-minute exchange of die (SMED) for equipment tooling/fixture.
Continuous Improvement Project Management:
  • JDI (Just-Do-It), PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) and A3 Problem Solving as project initiative to address equipment issues.
Equipment Skills:
  • Basic understanding and interpretation of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Basic understanding of Sensors, Relay, Solenoids PLC, AC/DC power supply and concepts.
Your Profile
  • Diploma/Higher NITEC in the field of Mechanical, Electrical, Bioengineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Higher NITEC or equivalent: At least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferably in medical device industry.
  • Prior technical experience in Electronics / Manufacturing environment will be added advantage.
  • Meticulous, responsible, flexible, independent and customer oriented.
  • Experience working in project environment with good problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience inTotal Productive Maintenance (TPM) will be an advantage.
