Job summary

Public Service Division is seeking an Engineer, Street Design & Infrastructure Technology to lead the planning and design development of commuter and road infrastructure projects that enhance travel for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and transit users.

You will conduct feasibility studies and apply design thinking to create user-centric road schemes and prepare tender specifications to support project implementation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in civil/transport infrastructure design preferred.

[LTA-IDE] ENGINEER, STREET DESIGN & INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGY

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of a team to spearhead the planning and design development of commuter and road infrastructure projects to enhance the travel experience of commuters, motorists, cyclists and active mobility users. You will have the opportunity to conduct feasibility studies and utilise design thinking to conceptualise and design user-centric road schemes. You will also prepare tender specifications and provide technical support in the project implementation stage. There will also be opportunities for you to explore new and emerging technologies suitable for infrastructure development, as well as develop and review engineering standards and design guidelines.

In addition, to achieve our vision of a car-lite nation, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with agencies and stakeholders to redefine our users’ travel experience through the development of Transit Priority Corridors, road re-purposing projects, covered linkways and bus stop upgrading works that enhance first- and last-mile connectivity and walkability. You will be part of the team participating in road and streetscape design aimed at creating pedestrian-friendly streets.

[What we are looking for]

• Knowledge in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Relevant working experience in Civil Engineering design and/or transport infrastructure projects preferred. Experience in street design, with a good understanding of urban design principles, will be an added advantage
• Fresh graduates with a keen interest in road and commuter infrastructure projects are welcome to apply
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
