Job summary

The Classroom is seeking an experienced Lower Secondary Science teacher to join our Hougang Centre on a full-time basis. You will teach Sec 1 and Sec 2 Science, handling about 9–10 classes per week with class sizes limited to 12, and work four weekdays plus one weekend day.

The role offers room to grow, with potential to teach Upper Secondary Pure Physics and increase salary; collaboration with a small team to improve materials and curriculum, and close communication with parents on student

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience teaching Secondary Science
• A degree in Science, Engineering or a related field
• Strong subject knowledge
• The ability to explain difficult concepts clearly
• Confidence communicating with both students and parents
• A genuine interest in improving your own teaching over time

Responsibilities

Job description

Hougang | Full-time | From $5,000/month | One weekend day

We are looking for an experienced Lower Secondary Science teacher to join us full-time at The Classroom.

The role will mainly involve teaching Sec 1 and Sec 2 Science, with a teaching load of around 9 to 10 classes per week. Classes are capped at 12 students, and you will work four weekdays and one weekend day.

If you are also able to teach Upper Secondary Pure Physics, even better. There will be room for a larger teaching role and a higher salary.

About us

The Classroom is a Secondary Maths and Science tuition centre in Hougang Central.

We started in 2009 and have taught close to 3,000 students over the years. We currently specialise in subjects such as O-Level Chemistry and Additional Mathematics, and we are now looking for someone who can help us further build our Lower Secondary Science programme.

We are a relatively small team, so this is not a role where you simply come in, teach your classes and leave.

You will work closely with me and the rest of the team on how we teach Science, how our materials can be improved, and how we can help our students learn better.

Salary

From $5,000/month

Salary can go up to around $6,000/month depending on experience, teaching ability and whether you are able to teach Upper Secondary Physics as well.
