Job summary

TikTok is offering an LLM & Agent Algorithm Intern (Search) role for a PhD student starting in 2027 in Singapore. The internship focuses on building the search-domain LLM foundation, agent orchestration, memory, and evaluation systems to advance TikTok Search and multimodal content understanding.

You will join the TT-Search Algorithm & Applied AI team, contributing to R&D, tool integration, and cross-functional collaboration with industry experts.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or related majors preferred.
• Solid foundation in machine learning / deep learning and familiarity with cutting-edge LLM and Agent technologies; publications at top-tier conferences are a plus.
• Experience with LLM pre-training / fine-tuning / alignment, Agent development (tool calling, planning, memory, multi-agent collaboration), RAG, RLHF / RLAIF, data synthesis, automated evaluation, etc.

Responsibilities

• Search LLM Foundation R&D: build and optimize the search-domain LLM foundation; develop and refine post-training pipelines for search LLMs.
• Agent Engineering & Multi-Agent Orchestration: contribute to building the search Agent execution framework and multi-agent scheduling.
• Long-term Memory, Self-Improvement & Data Closed Loop: work on long-term memory mechanisms and automated data synthesis; explore self-improvement directions.
• Evaluation & Reward/Verifier Systems: help build online evaluation frameworks and automated evaluation.
• Business Implementation: support long-horizon tasks and multimodal AIGC creation.
