Job summary

NEXTSOFT PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an IT Operations Engineer to monitor and maintain production Linux servers, ensuring high availability. You will manage VPN/server accounts, deploy changes with the dev team, and write automation scripts in Shell or Python.

Mandarin communication with technical teams is required to coordinate internal IT operations, including AI-assisted tooling for efficiency and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the Linux operating system and common command-line utilities.
• Familiarity with IT services (SSH, Nginx, VPN) and foundational network/security knowledge.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Shell or Python) to write automation scripts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective use of logs and metrics.
• Experience with AI tools to assist in scripting and IT operations development.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily monitoring, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production Linux servers to ensure high system stability and availability.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of user accounts for VPNs, servers, and related systems, including provisioning, permissions, revocation, and daily administration.
• Collaborate with the development team to handle deployments, configuration changes, log analysis, and live system issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, or similar languages for routine tasks like inspections and deployments.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in developing and improving internal IT operations tools.
