Job summary

Murata Singapore is seeking a capable legal professional to join the Regional Functional Legal department. Based in Singapore, you will provide daily legal support for contracts, reviews, drafting, and templates, and handle compliance matters in ASEAN and India regions.

You will train sales teams on Purchase Agreements and NDAs, address disputes with external firms, manage whistleblowing investigations, and support internal audits and regulatory updates.

Qualifications

  • Legal degree or equivalent; 4–7 years in law firms or in-house.
  • Experience advising on information security matters.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Willing to travel to ASEAN and India regions.
  • Attention to detail and deadline-oriented.
  • Pro-active, independent team player.
  • Guidance and training for young legal staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for daily operations and project contracts.
  • Train sales staff in ASEAN + India on Purchase Agreements and NDAs.
  • Address disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters with external firms.
  • Lead compliance trainings on anti-cartel, anti-corruption, anti-fraud, conflicts of interest, whistleblowing.
  • Manage whistleblowing system and investigations by employees.
  • Review and revise internal compliance rules.
  • Monitor legal/regulatory updates in ASEAN + India.
  • Support external audits on legal domain.
  • Improve efficiency in contract reviewing process.
  • Guide and train junior legal staff as needed.

POSITION PROFILE

Based in: Singapore

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support for daily operation, as wellas projects assigned as person in charge (such as legal research and writing,drafting, proofreading, reviewing and arranging for execution of relevantcontracts, creation and update of templates and the like)
  • Provide training for sales members in ASEAN +India on Purchase Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements and any relevantcontracts to improve their awareness with regards to the potential legal risks
  • Proactively address legal issues with legal firmsincluding disputes, litigation, and any regulatory matters that might affectMurata’s business in ASEAN + India
  • Conduct compliance trainings relating toanti-cartel, anti-corruption, anti-fraud, conflicts of interest, whistleblowingand the like, and review relevant materials as appropriate
  • Management of whistleblowing system as windowperson and supporting investigations of reports via such system and other majormisconducts by employees if any
  • Review and revise internal rules related tocompliance
  • Look into latest information on legal mattersincluding revisions of laws and regulations in ASEAN + India, and provide suchinformation to our affiliates therein
  • Advice and support to external audits on legaldomain
  • Assist in improving work efficiency to thecontract reviewing process
  • Guidance and training for young legal staffthrough sharing of experience, if necessary.
Ability / Competency Required
  • Degree in legal field, international business orequivalent
  • Minimum 4-7 years of legal experience working in lawfirms or as an in-house legal and compliance
  • Experience on advising on information security matters
  • Highly competent with MS Office (Power Point, Excel andespecially Word)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Able to multi-task and self-motivated individual under achallenging work environment
  • A team player with a positive attitude, independent andpro-active individual
  • Able to go on a business trip for ASEAN and India region
  • Good social etiquette and writing skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and deadline-oriented
