Job summary

Lawyers On Demand (LOD) Singapore seeks a senior energy and commodities lawyer with 7-10 years PQE to join our multinational client support model. You will advise on LNG projects, commercial agreements, and cross-border transactions across the energy value chain.

Ideal candidates have top-tier private practice or in-house experience, with the ability to deliver practical, risk-based legal advice to commercial teams while working flexibly on-site or remotely.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years PQE gained at a leading law firm and/or major energy/commodities organisation
• Qualified to practise law in a common law jurisdiction
• Strong experience advising on LNG, energy, commodities or infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience negotiating LNG SPAs, gas supply agreements, and commodity trading arrangements
• Experience supporting cross-border corporate transactions and strategic partnerships

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, risk-based legal advice to commercial, trading, origination, and operations teams across cross-border energy projects
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on LNG SPAs, gas supply, transportation and terminal use agreements, and related contracts
• Support corporate transactions including joint ventures, acquisitions, and divestments across the energy value chain

We are seeking candidates with 7-10 years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained across a combination of top-tier private practice and in-house roles within the energy, LNG, commodities, or natural resources sectors, with a strong track record advising on LNG projects, commercial agreements, commodity trading arrangements, and strategic corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical legal expertise with commercial pragmatism, supporting business teams across complex cross-border projects and transactions throughout the energy value chain.

Who are we looking for?

There is currently an increased demand for experienced energy and commodities lawyers to support a leading multinational organisation on a range of strategic transactions and business-critical initiatives. We are interested in legally trained professionals with the following attributes:

• 7-10 years PQE gained at a leading law firm and/or a major energy, commodities, or natural resources organisation
• Qualified to practise law in a common law jurisdiction
• Strong experience advising on LNG, energy, commodities, or infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience negotiating and advising on LNG SPAs, gas supply agreements, transportation and terminal use agreements, commodity trading arrangements, and other complex commercial contracts
• Experience supporting corporate transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, divestments, project investments, and strategic partnerships
• Strong understanding of commercial risk allocation, pricing mechanisms, supply and offtake arrangements, shipping, logistics, and commodity trading structures
• Proven ability to provide practical, risk-based legal advice to commercial, trading, origination, business development, procurement, and operations teams
• Experience operating within complex, multi-jurisdictional environments and managing cross-border legal matters
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence senior business leaders
• Experience within LNG, gas, energy transition, low‑carbon, renewable energy, or wider commodity markets will be highly regarded
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to commence on short notice is preferred
