We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised Legal Associate to support the Group's legal function, with a primary focus on contract management and legal matters across the Southeast Asia region. Reporting to the Legal Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing the lifecycle of commercial contracts and legal documentation, supporting legal and compliance initiatives, and ensuring the efficient administration of legal records and processes. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to cross-border commercial transactions and in-house legal practice while partnering closely with business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and administrative support on legal matters relating to the Group's operations, primarily across the Southeast Asia region.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of contracts and legal documents, including coordinating execution processes, ensuring proper completion, filing, record maintenance, and document retention.
  • Maintain and administer contract repositories, ensuring contracts are accurately recorded and key contractual obligations, milestones, and renewal or expiry dates are appropriately tracked.
  • Prepare, review, update, and maintain standard form agreements, legal templates, precedents, and other legal documentation.
  • Assist in the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial agreements, and provide legal support on matters arising from the Group's business operations across the Southeast Asia region.
  • Conduct legal research and monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Group's business operations and provide summaries or recommendations where appropriate.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of legal policies, standard operating procedures, governance frameworks, and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain legal trackers, document management systems, corporate records, and other legal databases to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Legal function.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel on legal documentation, contract administration, and other legal matters as required.
  • Perform such other legal, compliance, and administrative duties as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Formal legal education, such as a Diploma in Law, Bachelor’s Degree in Law, or a Masters in Law (or its equivalent).
  • Formal education, training, or exposure to PRC/China laws will be viewed favourably.
  • Relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is an advantage; however, fresh graduates with strong academic credentials and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in an in-house legal environment are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken), with the ability to review, draft, and work with legal and commercial documents in both languages, is required.
  • Intellectually curious and commercially minded, with a strong interest in developing a long‑term career in an in‑house legal environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, legal research, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound legal and commercial judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with legal and non-legal stakeholders across different jurisdictions.
  • Highly organised and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and willing to learn, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross‑functional and regional teams.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Enthusiastic about gaining exposure to cross‑border commercial transactions, regional legal matters, and supporting business operations across multiple jurisdictions.
