Job summary

sggovterp invites applications for an Academic role in Data & AI Engineering. The appointee will teach and design curricula across Python, data analytics, AI/ML, and related topics.

The position emphasizes guiding youths and adult learners, developing new courses, and participating in consultancy and applied research projects. Initial two-year contract with renewal potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of AI engineering, data engineering or AI/ML ops experience.
• Proficient in Python programming.
• Familiar with ML Lifecycle, Model Versioning, and DVC.
• Experience in Full-Stack Web Development and containerization.
• Passionate about education and mentoring youths and adults.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning of students (youths and adult learners).
• Develop and maintain teaching curriculum, reviewing existing content and identifying improvements to enhance learning and employability.
• Keep current on trends in AI/ML deployment, including ML ops and serverless deployments.
• Support strategic initiatives through committees and projects such as research and consultancy.

The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. Not only will he/she has both the knowledge and working experience, he/she must also possess the ability to deconstruct the knowledge and experience, guiding students to reconstruct them as their own knowledge. There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects. What you will be working on

Data & AI / AI Engineering

The appointee must be competent to teach in at least three of the following subjects:

Responsibilities:

• Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning of students (youths and adult learners)
• Develop and maintain new/existing teaching curriculum. This includes regular review of existing curriculum and make recommendations on areas of improvements that would enhance students' learning, performance and employability.
• Keep current and abreast of trends and developments of AI / Machine Learning engineering deployment such as ML & Data Ops, Severless ML Deployment
• Support the School' strategic initiatives through involvement in committee work and projects such as research and consultancy projects, development and management of new courses

What we are looking for

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in AI engineering, application development, data engineering or AI/ML ops engineering
• Proficient in Python programming languages
• Familiar with: ML LifecycleModel Versioning, DVC toolsCI/CD for ML
• Added advantage if applicant has experience in: Full-Stack Web DevelopmentSoftware EngineeringContainerisation and Orchestration implementationServerless ML Deployments (Cloud)Model Security
• Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both youths and adult learners.
• Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
