Job summary

sggovterp in Singapore seeks an Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Academic Development) in the School of Engineering to design, develop and deliver applied curricula across Statistics, Electronics, Design Thinking, Business Innovation, and entrepreneurship.

They will lead academic operations, participate in committees, mentor students, and collaborate on CET programmes with staff and external partners. Prior teaching experience and curriculum design are essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering or Statistics.
• At least 2 years of relevant work/industrial experience in a related field, preferably involving applications of Statistics, Electronics, Design Thinking or Entrepreneurship.
• Pedagogy and effective teaching/assessment practices, including design thinking and project-based learning.
• Good IT skills and competency in working with online learning platforms and educational technology.
• Use of Excel for data analysis, reporting and instructional support.
• Strong communication and good interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Candidates conversant in blended learning, tech-enabled teaching tools, design thinking, entrepreneurship and project-based learning have an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver applied Statistics, Electronics, Design Thinking, Business Innovation, and/or entrepreneurship curricula to students.
• Work collaboratively in teams to foster culture of innovative and enterprising efforts among staff and develop entrepreneurship programmes to nurture entrepreneurial mindsets among learners.
• Lead and/or represent the school in committees such as in‑reach, out‑reach, academic operations and student development, as and when required.
• Identify and spearhead new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations within the polytechnic and/or with industry partners.
• Plan, lead, manage and undertake projects or co‑developed training courses with internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan, develop and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes for adult learners and industry partners.
• Conduct and contribute to research efforts in teaching and learning.
• Perform academic, administrative and other related duties as assigned.
• Mentor and guide students in both academic and personal development.
