Job summary

STMICROELECTRONICS PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a motivated Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence across our wafer fab production. You will deploy and sustain AVP, QRCI, Obeya, 5S, and Gemba practices while partnering with multifunctional teams to improve productivity and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, production operations, Lean manufacturing, or operational excellence will be advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies such as AVP, QRCI, Obeya, 5S, Gemba, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision-making ability.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives across production operations.
  • Deploy, sustain, and improve Lean practices such as AVP, QRCI, Obeya, 5S, Gemba walks, and continuous improvement workshops.
  • Collaborate with Production, Module, DTIT, Quality, Training, and support teams to improve productivity, workflow efficiency, manpower flexibility, and cross-shift execution.
  • Build and strengthen Lean culture on the shop floor by coaching teams, standardising best practices, tracking improvement actions, and ensuring results are measurable and sustainable.
  • Support problem-solving activities, recovery actions, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Monitor progress of improvement plans and follow through on implementation effectiveness.
  • Contribute to operational reviews, presentations, and Lean-related reporting as required.

Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives across production in a semiconductor wafer fab environment. This role supports the deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of key Lean practices, while working closely with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, workflow efficiency, and execution discipline.

  • Strong communication, presentation, coaching, and shopfloor leadership skills.
  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to support production floor activities, recovery actions, and occasional weekend or overtime needs when required.
