Job summary

NTU Singapore’s School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology seeks an experienced Lab Manager/Senior Assistant Manager to lead its X-ray crystallography services and laboratory operations.

You will oversee instrument performance, data interpretation, training of researchers and teaching support for graduate courses, while coordinating safety, maintenance and vendor interactions to sustain cutting-edge crystallography capabilities across the university.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry with at least 5 years of experience in small-molecule X-ray crystallography.
• Doctoral research in small-molecule crystallography (3–4 years) will be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across departments.
• Able to operate XRD systems and related crystallography software.

Responsibilities

• Assess sample suitability and advise on crystal growth, preparation and techniques.
• Perform data collection, structure solution and refinement; prepare crystallographic reports.
• Maintain instruments, calibration, maintenance and vendor coordination.
• Train new users and develop SOPs; support coursework CM7012/CM6810.
• Ensure safety, documentation and compliance across the laboratory.
