Job summary

HAFNIA POOLS PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the technical operations of vessels from Singapore.

The role requires extensive sailing background and at least 7 years of seagoing experience, including 2+ years as Chief Engineer or Senior Second Engineer. The position involves maintenance, safety, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the fleet. Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of sailing experience.
At least 2 years' experience at sea as a Chief Engineer or a Senior Second Engineer.
Chief Engineer's License preferred.
Able to travel and visit vessels when required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to the company vision and values onboard ships and ashore.
Ensure ships follow energy management initiatives and address deviations with priority.
Monitor, manage and report day-to-day technical operation and performance of vessels.
Ensure compliance with statutory, class and third-party requirements.
Conduct bi-annual vessel inspections and follow up on inspection report deficiencies.
Monitor vessels' routine maintenance and verify stock levels during visits.
Arrange spares, repairs, modifications and services to meet statutory requirements and standards.
Identify areas for improvements and modifications for efficient operation across fleets.
Manage dry-docking process from planning to final reporting.
Work with shipboard management to ensure third parties comply with health, safety and environment policy.
Evaluate Masters' and Chief Engineers' performance in cooperation with crewing.
Develop and control running cost budgets; liaise with OPEX Controller.
Implement quality procedures and update records and manuals.
Participate in continuous improvement of departmental procedures.
