Job summary

Peak Ocean Pte Ltd is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to oversee design, analysis, and integrity management for hull structures, topsides, and marine foundations across Asia-Pacific with a focus on Shanghai execution. You will lead FEA and ensure compliance with DNV/ABS/API standards while coordinating with APAC yards.

The role requires 5+ years in offshore structural engineering, and relocation to China is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in offshore oil and gas structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and integrity management of hull structures and topsides modules.

• Prepare reports and dossiers for approvals by DNV, ABS, IMO, MODU Code.
• Provide technical support to APAC/China yards and resolve fabrication issues on-site.
• Contribute to vessel life-extension studies and safety compliance.

Role Overview

The Lead Structural Engineer leads the design, analysis, and integrity management of hull structures, topsides modules, and marine equipment foundations for FPSO/FSO conversion and newbuild projects across the Asia-Pacific region, with a primary focus on detailed engineering and fabrication support in Shanghai.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform FEA (fatigue, yielding, ultimate strength) for primary/secondary hull structures, topsides support, and equipment foundations. Conduct lifting, transportation, and structural calculations to AISC, API, Eurocode, DNV, and ABS standards.
• Produce and review engineering reports, specifications, and design dossiers to secure DNV, ABS, IMO, and MODU Code approvals.
• Provide technical support to APAC/China yards, review vendor data, attend FATs, and resolve fabrication/integration issues on-site.
• Contribute to structural integrity assessments (SMA/SIA), modifications, and vessel life-extension studies.
• Maintain workplace safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and report hazards and quality issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural, Civil, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
• 5+ years in offshore oil and gas structural engineering (FPSO/FSO, platforms), including shipyard/fabrication support.
• Proficiency in FEA tools (ANSYS, SACS, ABAQUS) and 3D modeling (AutoCAD, PDMS, AVEVA Marine); strong command of DNV, ABS, and API RP 2A codes.
• This position requires relocation on a residential basis in China.
