Job summary

SICK Sensor Intelligence in Singapore seeks a Lead Engineer, System to drive advanced sensor product development. You will own system architecture across electronics, embedded software, optics, and mechanical domains, guiding cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust, compliant products.

The role requires strong leadership, deep system knowledge, and proven delivery of multiple product cycles, with a focus on end-to-end integration and verification throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of System Engineering experience.
• Proven delivery of at least 3 full product development cycles.
• Strong experience in complex embedded systems development.
• Expertise in cross-disciplinary integration (electronics, optics, mechanical).
• Strong requirements engineering and validation testing capabilities.
• Experience with System FMEA and reliability engineering.
• Familiar with product standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture development across electronics, embedded software, optics, and mechanical domains.
• Translate stakeholder needs into robust system requirements and cascade to domain teams.
• Own system-level integration, validation, troubleshooting, and final performance outcomes.
• Act as the technical authority for all issues during product development.
• Serve as technical owner of assigned product(s) and technologies across lifecycle.
• Lead resolution of complex technical challenges and cross-domain issues.
• Review/approve system requirements, design outputs, and validation strategies.
• Drive System FMEA and risk management activities.
• Ensure compliance with standards (EMC/EMI, thermal, vibration) and translate into requirements.
• Coordinate technical activities across multidisciplinary teams and clusters.
• Support innovation through feasibility studies and new tech introduction.
