Job summary

A Research Scientist role at A*STAR focuses on developing analytical methods to characterize next-generation biotherapeutics and applying metabolomics workflows to optimize bioprocesses. The role sits at the intersection of analytical chemistry, biology, and data science.

You will lead method development, operate LC-MS platforms, and collaborate with internal teams to generate high-quality data and insights that advance biologics manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Biochemical/Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in analytical method development, biotherapeutic characterization, or metabolomics.
• Proficiency in LC-MS operation and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with automated liquid handling.
• Strong statistical and data interpretation skills.
• High scientific rigor and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in fast-paced research.

Responsibilities

• Lead method development and metabolomics investigations from planning to interpretation.
• Operate and troubleshoot LC-MS platforms and adopt new technologies.
• Develop sample preparation workflows and automation.
• Apply statistical and chemometric approaches to datasets to derive insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to publications and reports.
• Support lab safety and continuous process improvement.
