Qualifications

• PhD completed by start date in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Transportation or related field.
• Strong optimization background: integer/graph/queueing models; stochastic/robust/online optimization.
• Strong ML background: representation learning, time-series, probabilistic modeling, distribution shift.
• Proven research track record: publications and clear writing of contributions.
• Solid programming skills; proficient with AI tooling for research.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop independent research directions: formulate problems, build methods, validate empirically.
• Publish findings in top journals/conferences in OR, AI and related fields.
• Disseminate outcomes through presentations and scholarly channels.
• Translate research into practice via engagement with policy/industry; mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers.
• Support grant management and project coordination.
• Other duties as assigned.
