Job summary

Baker Hughes in Singapore seeks a Lead Project Quality Engineer (Connection) to drive quality through robust PQP/ITP and QMS alignment. You will lead audits, mentor staff, and push continuous improvement across EPC projects, with travel up to 10%.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 8+ years in QA/QC in oil & gas, and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Minimum 8 years in QA/QC roles within oil & gas, petrochemical or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project lifecycle and internal standards (ASME, API, ISO, DNV).
  • Excellent understanding of Quality Management System (QMS) and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focusing on root cause and corrective action.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and/or ASQ CQE certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel – minimum 10% per month.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Quality Control Procedures aligning to regulatory, customer requirement and corporate QMS.
  • Monitor compliance with codes, standards and customer specifications (e.g., API, ASME, ISO, ASTM, NACE, DNV).
  • Conduct internal and external audits, including supplier and subcontractor audits, to verify quality performance.
  • Prepare and present quality related reports such as QA/QC dashboard and final documentation dossiers for client approvals, including investigation and improvement report.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement through lessons learned and root cause analysis.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness and provide training and mentoring to project staff on QA/QC practices.

Qualifications
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field – an added advantage.
  • Have a minimum of 8 years experience in QA/QC roles within oil & gas, petrochemical or energy sectors.
  • Have strong knowledge in EPC project lifecycle and relevant internal standards (ASME, API, ISO, DNV, etc.).
  • Have an excellent understanding of Quality Management System (QMS) and MS Office tools.
  • Have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on root cause and corrective action.
  • Have certification in ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and/or ASQ CQE, preferred.
  • Be able to consider travelling – minimal (10% per month on need basis).
