Job summary

LVI Associates seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer for data centers to lead thermal management design and liquid/high-density cooling initiatives. You will drive scalable mechanical solutions, evaluate equipment, and apply reliability practices across project lifecycles.

Responsibilities include collaborating with design, construction, commissioning and operations teams to ensure compliant, high-performance infrastructure capable of supporting regional projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional certification (PE/CEng) preferred.
• 10+ years in mission-critical infrastructure or data centres.

Position Title: Lead Mechancal Engineer (Data Centers)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of advanced thermal management and cooling systems, including liquid cooling and high-density air cooling solutions.
• Develop scalable and standardised mechanical designs that support operational continuity and future growth.
• Evaluate and select mechanical equipment based on performance, efficiency, maintainability, and reliability.
• Apply reliability engineering principles, including failure analysis and risk assessments, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop predictive and preventive maintenance strategies using operational and monitoring data.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support for complex projects and client engagements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering, environmental, and safety standards.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure, data centres, or similar large-scale facilities.
• Strong expertise in HVAC systems, thermal management, cooling technologies, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Experience with liquid cooling solutions and high-density computing environments.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and maintenance methodologies.
• Proficiency in engineering simulation and modelling tools, such as CFD and thermal modelling software.
• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and support regional projects.
