Job summary

EPAM Singapore is seeking a Lead Java Developer in Singapore. You will lead hands-on delivery of banking-grade back-end services built on Java 21, Spring Boot, microservices and REST APIs, shaping architecture, setting engineering standards and partnering with DevOps to run containerized workloads on OpenShift.

You will define microservice boundaries, APIs, data models and integration patterns, build resilient REST APIs, guide synchronous and event-driven communications, and drive quality

Qualifications

Strong Java expertise with hands-on experience in modern Java versions.
Experience building back-end services using Spring Boot and microservices.
Familiarity with REST API design and API contracts.
Knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and data modelling.

Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of Java 21 back-end services.
Define microservice boundaries, API contracts, data models and integration patterns.
Build resilient REST APIs with proper error handling and documentation.
Guide synchronous and event-driven service communications.
Collaborate with DevOps to deploy and operate on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
Establish coding standards and review practices across the team.
Improve quality via automated testing, CI/CD, and code scanning.
