Job summary

EPAM SYSTEMS PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices) to design and build Java 21 microservices for banking platforms, shaping API design and secure coding. You will join a cross-functional Agile team with strong emphasis on quality gates and automation.

The role requires expertise in Java 21, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and ORM with Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, plus SQL proficiency and container deployment experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Java 21 expertise and strong Spring Boot background.
• Experience with microservices architecture and REST API design.
• Proficient in Spring Data JPA and ORM (Hibernate).
• SQL proficiency with Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Containerized deployments using OpenShift or Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Java 21 microservices using Spring Boot.
• Deliver REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Drive service and API design, data modeling and technical decisions.
• Implement resilience patterns, validation, security and transaction handling.
• Build persistence layers using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
• Create unit and integration tests and improve test coverage.
• Improve code quality using automated checks and peer reviews.
• Partner with DevOps to deploy and support services on OpenShift.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices) in Singapore. You will build and support Java 21 microservicesfor banking platforms, shaping API design, resilience and secure coding. Join across-functional Agile team where quality gates and automation are part of howyou ship.

• Design and build Java 21 microservices using Spring Boot


• Deliver REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems


• Drive service and API design, data modeling and technical decisions


• Implement resilience patterns, validation, security and transaction handling


• Build persistence layers using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate


• Create unit and integration tests and improve test coverage

What Will Make You Shine

• Java 21 expertise including recent long-term support versions (Java twenty-one on this project)


• Spring Boot capability across the Spring Framework ecosystem


• Microservices architecture knowledge including distributed systems fundamentals


• REST API development experience including integration design


• Spring Data and Spring Data JPA skill sets for persistence


• Hibernate or equivalent Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) experience


• SQL proficiency with a relational database such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL


• Containers exposure with OpenShift or Kubernetes plus Git and build tooling (Maven or Gradle)
