Job summary

The Boston Consulting Group, through BCG X, is seeking an experienced LeadForward Deployed AI Engineer to build the next generation of AI solutions. You will partner with clients across regions and industries, shaping strategy and delivering production-grade GenAI systems.

This role requires a strong founder mindset, hands-on AI/ML expertise, and leadership to guide teams, drive thought leadership, and deliver impact for clients and the firm.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relavent experience; prior professional services or consulting experience is a plus.
• Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience architecting and deploying AI/GenAI solutions at enterprise scale.
• Experience with LLMs and platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.
• Proficient in Python and full-stack development (React, JavaScript, TypeScript) with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with relational, non-relational and streaming data structures.
• Experience deploying production systems on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong leadership and ability to guide teams and manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics value-chain end to end: frame new challenges, design algorithms, implement and deploy solutions.
• Develop and deliver AI/GenAI solutions and products.
• Partner with clients across regions and industries on AI initiatives.
• Lead thought leadership and present at conferences and in scientific communities.
• Shape strategy for BCG X and drive growth and business development.
• Guide non-technical teams and consultants on best practices for robust software development.
• Drive commercial impact through topic leadership and client engagement.
• Collaborate with partners and MDs to align tech strategy with business goals.

Our BCG X teams own the full analytics value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing, and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully embrace AI. Our product offerings span from fully custom-builds to industry specific leading edge AI software solutions.

As aLeadForward Deployed AI Engineeryou’llbe part of our rapidly growing engineering team and help to build the next generation of AI solutions.You’llhave the chance to partner with clients in a variety of BCG regions and industries, and on key topics like climate change, enabling them to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions.Additionalresponsibilities will include developing and delivering thought leadership in scientific communities and papers as well as leading conferences on behalf of BCG X.

As a core member of BCGXyou will also take a larger and more proactive role in shaping the strategy of BCG X – and of BCG overall. You will work closely with partners & managing directors to drive our company’s growth & business development.Additionalresponsibilities will include developing and delivering thought leadership, managing teams ofAIscientists, engineers, designers. Successful candidates are intellectually curious builders who are biased toward action, scrappy, and communicative.

We are looking for builder-type developers witha strong foundationin AI/ML, including GenAI (LLMs,LangChain), and experience in either data engineering or modern full-stack development.The ideal candidate is a passionate software engineer eager to apply advanced technologies to help organizations become AI-led and innovation-driven. • Comfortable in a client-facing role, manage engagements, client relationships, provide “thought leadership” to teams

• Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software

• Experiencedinguiding non-technical teams and consultants in and best practices for robust software development

• Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design

What You'll Bring

• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models

• Proficient in Pythonandskilledin full-stack development using React, JavaScript, TypeScript,with experience in CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with the storage, manipulation, and management of relational, non-relational and streaming data structures

• Experience building and deploying production systems on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) isa plus

• Strong record of professional accomplishment and leadership,demonstratedability to lead and manage projects and teams

• Proven ability to drive topics and make a commercial impact

• Strong communicator with the ability to guide non-technical stakeholders and contribute in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
