Job summary

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) X is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Scientist to lead end‑to‑end analytics projects. You will design, build, and deploy machine‑learning and GenAI solutions for real‑world business challenges across industries, collaborating with clients and cross‑functional teams.

You will apply data science, ML, and AI techniques to create impact, mentor teams, and contribute to BCG X’s strategic AI knowledge while advancing your career in a dynamic, outcomes‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks.
• Experience with ML, GenAI/LLMs, or data analytics.

What You’ll Do

Our BCG X teams own the full analytics value chain end to end: framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully embrace AI. Our product offerings range from fully custom-built solutions to industry-specific, leading-edge AI software solutions.

Forward Deployed AI Scientist, you’ll be part of our rapidly growing team, applying data science, machine learning, and AI to real-world business challenges across a variety of industries. You’ll partner with clients and BCG teams to design, build, and deploy innovative solutions that create meaningful business impact.

In This Role, You Will

• Work with clients and BCG X teams to solve real-world business challenges using data science and AI
• Design, build, test, and deploy machine learning, GenAI, and advanced analytics solutions
• Turn business problems and ideas into working prototypes and scalable technical solutions
• Work hands‑on across the development journey, from exploring ideas and experimenting with models to implementation and deployment
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, consultants, and clients to bring solutions to life
• Help clients adopt AI solutions and turn technical innovation into real business impact
• Contribute to BCG X’s broader AI knowledge, innovation, and thought leadership

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Strong programming and software engineering foundations, with proficiency in Python and/or other relevant languages
• Exposure to machine learning, AI, GenAI / LLMs, data analytics, or statistical modelling
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
• A builder mindset, with hands‑on experience developing technology, AI, or data solutions
• Strong communication, collaboration, and learning agility
• Relevant technical internships, AI/startup experience, or 0-to-1 product-building experience is a plus
