As the M365 and Exchange Platform Engineer, you are accountable for the architecture, engineering, operation, and automation of the Microsoft 365 tenant and Exchange Online platform.
Operating as a cloud platform specialist, you will ensure high availability, optimal performance, and efficiency across the tenant.
By leveraging PowerShell and Graph API automation, managing licensing lifecycles, and introducing modern M365 capabilities, you will streamline enterprise messaging and SaaS platform operations.
In this role, you will lead and manage the following domains:
M365 Tenant Administration: Managing and optimizing global Microsoft 365 tenant settings, directory synchronization, and core services.
Exchange Online Engineering: Architecting, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Exchange Online messaging infrastructure.
Tenant Lifecycle and License Management: Overseeing tenant lifecycle activities, optimizing license allocation, and controlling operational costs.
Capability Rollout and Adoption: Deploying new Microsoft cloud features, evaluating service updates, and enhancing platform capabilities.
Automation and Service Performance: Developing Graph API and PowerShell scripts to automate platform administration and optimize performance.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands‑on engineering experience administering large‑scale enterprise Microsoft 365 tenants and Exchange Online.
Advanced scripting capabilities using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API for automation and tenant management.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or Messaging Administrator Associate certifications are highly desirable.
Deep technical mastery of M365 tenant architecture, Exchange Online messaging pipelines, hybrid mail routing, and object synchronization.
Expert‑level proficiency in Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Exchange Admin Center, PowerShell, Graph API, and Entra Connect/Cloud Sync.
Ability to design redundant mail routes, establish disaster recovery procedures, and mitigate platform service disruptions.
Experience governing tenant‑wide configurations, defining service quotas, and managing license pooling efficiently.
Track record of delivering stable SaaS infrastructure services, meeting service level agreements (SLAs), and resolving complex technical escalations.
Ability to analyze M365 usage telemetry and performance metrics to drive platform cost optimization and resource allocation.
Strong collaboration skills to align M365 feature rollouts with business productivity requirements and IT service desk workflows.
Understanding of tenant security settings, message tracing, and audit log analysis to support cyber security incident investigations.
Self‑driven technical ownership to lead platform updates, tenant migrations, and infrastructure maintenance windows.
Passion for eliminating manual administration through scriptable workflows, automated provisioning, and self‑service capabilities.
Tenant and Exchange Engineering Accountability: Maintain, update, and optimize the global Microsoft 365 tenant and Exchange Online infrastructure.
Success Measures: Achieve more than 99.9 percent service availability for email and core tenant services; 0 percent unhandled platform service outages.
Platform Automation and Efficiency Accountability: Develop and maintain automated workflows using PowerShell and Graph API for repetitive administrative tasks.
Success Measures: Automate more than 80 percent of routine tenant management and mailbox provisioning tasks; measurable reduction in ticket handling times.
Licensing and Capacity Governance Accountability: Govern M365 tenant licensing, removing inactive assignments and optimizing resource utilization.
Success Measures: Less than 2 percent unused or unassigned active licenses retained in inventory; 100 percent compliance with corporate licensing models.
