Job summary

KIRA is seeking a Lead Engineer to take ownership of complex products and raise the engineering bar. This hands-on leadership role involves designing systems, writing and reviewing code, and guiding other engineers from idea to production.

You will move between architecture and implementation, making strong technical decisions while staying close to code, partnering with product design and AI teams to ship high-quality, scalable technology globally in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep technical expertise in backend/frontend, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Willingness to remain hands-on and write code.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable and reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infra.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem solving.
• Make architecture decisions and trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, reliability.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team.
• Own systems beyond release: monitor production and resolve incidents.
