LITEON SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. invites a senior researcher to join its Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team in Singapore.

The role focuses on early-stage research projects, collaborating with academia, suppliers, customers, and partners to deliver proof-of-concept designs for next-generation data center technologies. The successful candidate will lead embedded firmware development in C/C++ and HDLs for MCUs, DSPs, and FPGAs, develop real-time control loops, and contribute

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronic / Control Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience in control theory and signal processing.
• Understanding of common power electronic architectures and control methods.
• Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, embedded software (C/C++), and software architecture design.
• Experience defining and setting up controller platforms and code management across multiple projects.
• Solid understanding of microcontroller architectures, sensors, and communication protocols.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing with oscilloscopes, electronic loads and power analysers.
• Expertise in simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, Python, LTspice).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Experience planning projects, allocating engineering resources and reporting status.
• Demonstrated passion for innovation and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to design and implement embedded firmware in C/C++ and HDLs on MCUs, DSPs and FPGAs to demonstrate real world performance of novel power and cooling system technologies.
• Develop real-time control loops, PWM generation, ADC sampling, protection, fault handling, calibration, communications and sensor integration.
• Own controller selection, understanding hardware and control requirements to select appropriate controllers.
• Create automated unit and integration tests, supporting HIL/SIL test benches.
• Contribute to system requirements, architecture, code reviews, and documentation.
• Use coding standards and software version control to produce understandable and re-useable software.
• Support design for safety, compliance and reliability.
• Continuously research controller devices and architectures for lab demonstrations and product integration.
• Write research reports, design guides, patents and performance reports.
