This role leads the architecture and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms for AI, with a focus on reusable data products and scalable data pipelines across cloud-native and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Min 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering, software engineering or data platform engineering with leadership.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; knowledge of Java/Scala is a plus.
• Experience with distributed data processing and streaming tech (Spark, Kafka, Flink).
• Hands-on with cloud-native data platforms and lakehouse/data warehouse tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms for AI and analytics.
• Establish reusable data products and platform services to accelerate delivery.
• Promote DataOps, automated testing, observability, CI/CD and IaC practices.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, metadata, security and governance-by-design.
• Own technical architecture for batch, streaming and event-driven data processing.
• Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, orchestration and serving patterns.
• Define standards, ref architectures and patterns for data products and services.
• Enable AI/GenAI workloads with production-grade datasets and feature pipelines.
• Drive governance, cost optimisation, and security across cloud-native/on-prem environments.
• Mentor engineers and promote ownership, reuse and continuous improvement.
