Croda Singapore IBP office is seeking a Lead Applications Scientist for Sun & Skin Care. You will design experiments, manage cross-functional collaborations, and provide technical expertise to support product development and commercial success.

You will lead multiple NPD and EPD projects, translate complex data into actionable insights, and support claims substantiation through clinical and in-vitro testing. The role involves mentoring team members and engaging with external partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related field; MSc/PhD preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in skin/sun clinical testing for claims support.
• Experience in external collaborations and partnerships.
• Publications and presentations at technical conferences.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement new skin/sun testing protocols for product claims.
• Manage consumer research activities to support product claims and development.
• Write scientific reports with robust statistics to support claims and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations governing product label claims.

Job Summary

Lead innovative skin and sun care formulation projects by designing experiments, managing cross-functional collaborations, and delivering technical expertise to support product development and commercial success at Croda.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments to develop novel skin and sun care formulations and troubleshoot technical challenges using data-driven approaches
• Lead multiple New Product Development (NPD), Existing Product Development (EPD), and Open Innovation projects independently, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality technical data and formulations
• Provide expert technical support to sales and marketing teams by responding to customer inquiries, recommending products, and conducting internal and client-facing technical training sessions
• Identify and engage external technology partners to address market needs, managing collaborative innovation projects from initiation to execution
• Translate complex scientific data into clear, actionable insights for diverse business stakeholders including R&D, Sales, and Marketing
• Collaborate cross-functionally to lead product development projects and support claims substantiation through clinical and in-vitro testing methodologies
• Develop and implement new skin and sun testing protocols to enhance product claims and performance evaluation
• Manage consumer research activities including panel recruitment and oversight to support product claims and development
• Write scientific reports incorporating robust statistical analyses to support product claims and regulatory compliance
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations governing product label claims and claims substantiation

Required competencies and certifications

• Hands-on experience with in-vitro SPF and skin care clinical study measurements such as corneometer, TEWL, skin color, hydration, sebum, wrinkle, and elasticity assessments
• Proven project management skills to independently progress multiple projects to successful completion
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
• Degree in Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field; MSc or PhD preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in skin/sun clinical testing of personal care formulations for claims support
• Experience in basic formulation and troubleshooting of skin and sun care products
• Experience in external collaborations and partnerships
• Publications and presentations at technical conferences
