Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Foreman to oversee overhaul and workshop activities for 4-stroke marine engines used on harbor craft and workboats.

You will lead fitters and welders, plan work, monitor progress, ensure quality and safety, and coordinate with service engineers to support vessel service requirements. Ideal candidates hold a mechanical/marine engineering qualification with 5+ years' diesel engine experience and proven team leadership.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in diesel engine overhaul or workshop supervision.
• Experience supervising fitters, welders or workshop technicians.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily workshop activities for overhaul, repair, and maintenance of 4-stroke marine diesel engines.
• Lead and coordinate a team of fitters, welders, and technicians to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Plan and assign work based on engine overhaul schedules and workshop priorities.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with technical specs and quality requirements.
• Coordinate engine dismantling, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing.
• Collaborate with Service Engineers and Workshop Managers to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor workshop productivity, manpower utilization, and job progress.
• Ensure tools and facilities are maintained in good working condition.
• Enforce health, safety, and housekeeping standards in the workshop.
• Prepare progress updates and report issues to management.
