Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an Equipment Technician to join the Equipment Engineering team in a laser manufacturing environment in Singapore.

You will support installation, setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment to ensure safety, reliability and uptime. You will work with Equipment Engineers, Process Engineers, Production and other technical teams, performing calibration, adjustments, and documentation, and supporting

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Precision Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Laser/photonics/optics or precision manufacturing background is a plus but not required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics and work instructions.
• Teamwork, safety, quality and continuous improvement mindset.
• Willing to support production needs, including shift work or overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment checks, preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, sensor, motor and basic control-system issues.
• Support installation, setup, commissioning, qualification, modification and improvement activities.
• Support calibration, adjustment, component replacement and functional verification.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring failures and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance uptime, reliability, productivity and quality.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, equipment history and spare-parts records.
• Follow safety, quality standards and good housekeeping practices.
