Job summary
Coherent Singapore Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an Equipment Technician to join the Equipment Engineering team in a laser manufacturing environment. The Equipment Technician will support installation, setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
You will work with Equipment Engineers, Process Engineers, Production and other technical teams to ensure equipment safety, reliability and uptime, and you may assist with alignment,
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with equipment maintenance in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Laser, photonics, optics, semiconductor or precision manufacturing exposure is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily equipment checks, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and production impact.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, sensor, motor, and basic control-system issues.
- Support engineers in installation, setup, commissioning, qualification, modification and improvement activities.
- Support equipment calibration, adjustment, component replacement, and functional verification.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring failures and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
- Support continuous improvement to enhance equipment uptime, reliability, productivity, and quality.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, equipment history, and spare-parts records.
- Follow established work instructions, safety requirements, quality standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to support manufacturing requirements.
- Laser manufacturing support: assist with laser-related stations, optics alignment, and safety practices.
