Nanyang Junior College seeks a reliable Laboratory Attendant to support the Science Department. You will prepare lab apparatus and reagents, assist teachers, and ensure equipment is ready for lessons while keeping spaces clean and safe.

Responsibilities include chemical handling safety, maintaining laboratory storage, securing premises, and providing general support to STEM instructors. The role operates Monday to Friday with potential for extended hours during examinations.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Primary school education.
• Must safely handle chemicals, including acids and bases.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety.
• Preferably at least 1 year of working experience in a science laboratory at a Junior College.
• Responsible, careful, and attentive to detail.
• Able to follow instructions and comply with laboratory safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Laboratory Preparation & Support: Prepare laboratory apparatus, equipment, and chemical reagents for science practical lessons; Assist teachers with setup and preparation of laboratory activities; Ensure equipment and materials are ready for use; Support STEM instructors with laboratory-related activities and practical sessions.
• Laboratory Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and store laboratory apparatus, equipment, and materials; Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of laboratory workspaces; Keep equipment organized; Assist with general cleaning and maintenance of school premises.
• Chemical Handling & Laboratory Safety: Handle laboratory chemicals, including acids and bases, safely; Follow safety guidelines when preparing, handling, and storing chemicals; Maintain safe working conditions.
• Laboratory Security & General Support: Open and lock science laboratory doors and windows as required; Ensure premises are secured; Assist with other laboratory-related duties; Provide additional support to the Science Department.
