Job summary

Symarom (Asia) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support Flavourists in a flavour creation and sample preparation environment.

You will compound flavour samples, prepare materials for testing and customer delivery, and help maintain laboratory standards. You will assist with testing, calibration of equipment, documentation, and packing of samples, while ensuring safety and cleanliness in a compliant lab setting.

Qualifications

• Minimally one year of laboratory work experience.
• O Level / NITEC in food science & technology.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and workplace safety.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Compound flavour samples according to approved recipes and instructions.
• Assist Flavourists with flavour creation, sample preparation, and sensory evaluations/tastings.
• Assist in laboratory testing and analysis of samples (e.g. raw materials and finished products).
• Assist in equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Document analysis records.
• Prepare and pack flavour samples for applications, product management, QC and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organisation and good housekeeping standards.
• Clean, manage and return laboratory glassware and equipment to designated locations.
• Provide backup support to other Lab Assistant and laboratory support staff when required.

About the role

This is a Laboratory Assistant position supporting Flavourists in a flavour creation and sample preparation environment. You will work in a laboratory setting, compounding flavour samples, preparing materials for testing and customer delivery and maintaining laboratory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Compound flavour samples according to approved recipes and instructions
• Assist Flavourists with flavour creation, sample preparation, and sensory evaluations/tastings
• Assist in laboratory testing and analysis of samples (e.g. raw materials and finished products)
• Assist in equipment maintenance and calibration
• Document analysis records
• Prepare and pack flavour samples for applications, product management, QC and customer requirements

About you

• Possess at least 'O' Level / NITEC in food science & technology
