Silesia Flavours Southeast Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support flavourists with sample preparation, compounding, and sensory evaluations in a dedicated flavour creation environment. You will manage sampling, documentations, and basic SAP tasks in a well-equipped lab.
The role requires a Diploma or Degree in a related field and up to 2 years of industry experience. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork are essential for success in this position.
This is a Laboratory Assistant position supporting Flavourists in a flavour creation and sample preparation environment. You will work in a laboratory setting, compounding flavour samples, preparing materials for testing and customer delivery, and maintaining laboratory standards.
Compound flavour samples according to approved recipes and instructions.
Assist Flavourists with flavour creation, sample preparation, and sensory evaluations/tastings.
Prepare and pack flavour samples for applications, Product Management, FTF, QC, and customer requirements.
Assist Flavourists with relevant SAP activities and sample documentation.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organisation, and good housekeeping standards.
Clean, manage, and return laboratory glassware and equipment to designated locations.
Monitor stocks of raw materials, bottles, and laboratory supplies, and coordinate replenishment with MRP, Purchasing, or approved suppliers.
Assign storage locations for new raw materials and flavours.
Provide backup support to other Lab Assistants and laboratory support staff when required.
Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
2 years of relevant experience in a food, flavour, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industry, or entry-level candidate with relevant internship experience.
Able to operate laboratory equipment and follow laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
Basic knowledge of chemical handling and workplace safety.
Able to understand analytical and sensory evaluation results.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills; SAP experience is an advantage.
Reliable, responsible, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Organised and able to manage priorities effectively.
