Job summary

Eurofins Mechem is a global life sciences company offering analytical testing services. The role involves conducting laboratory testing, ensuring quality and safety, and supporting the Lab Manager in daily activities in a dynamic lab environment.

Open to entry-level applicants, with exposure to hazardous materials and PPE requirements. Overtime and weekend work may be required as part of the duties in the testing section.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Chemistry or Science.
• Ability to work with potentially hazardous materials.
• Overtime and weekend work as required.

Responsibilities

• Determine the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspects of the company.
• Assist Lab Manager/Senior Chemist in all aspects of work in the section.
• Carry out testing and calibration of equipment in the section as needed.
• Assist in reagent preparation and standardization of standard solutions.
• Perform result entry, QC checks, inventory maintenance, and basic equipment calibration & maintenance.
• Maintain all equipment and testing records in the section.
• General laboratory tasks: housekeeping, sample receipt/registration, prep of sample bottles, ensuring cleanliness.
• Highlight abnormalities and discrepancies in testing, calibration and results.
• Perform duties of a Quality Officer for the section.
• Update test methods and working instructions under supervision.

Education

Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Chemistry, Science or equivalent
