FIRSTCOM ENGINEERING PTE LTD is seeking a Maintenance Technician to monitor equipment, perform basic servicing and troubleshooting, and support escalations to higher engineering levels. The role requires 0–2 years of relevant experience and a Nitec in Engineering or equivalent, with a focus on safety and accurate documentation.
You will follow PM schedules, use basic diagnostic tools, and log work orders in our maintenance system, while adhering to HSE protocols and LOTO procedures.
Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM / Rotating Shifts / Includes On-Call
1.First Response & Monitoring
Monitor equipment dashboards, systems, and helpdesk queues to detect alarms, faults, or performance drops.
Serve as the first responder for maintenance tickets, performing initial remote or on-site diagnostics.
2.Preventative & Routine Maintenance
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct routine walk-through inspections to identify wear and tear, leaks, or abnormal noises.
Perform basic servicing tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and replacing consumable parts (filters, belts, fuses).
3.Basic Troubleshooting & Repair
Perform basic corrective maintenance and component-level replacements (e.g., swapping out modular parts, sensors, or motors).
Execute system resets and clear temporary faults using established troubleshooting trees.
4.Escalation & Collaboration
Identify when an issue exceeds L1 scope and elevate to L2/L3 engineers.
Gather comprehensive data for escalated issues, including pulling error logs, taking photos, and documenting all troubleshooting steps already attempted.
5.Documentation & Safety
Accurately log all work orders, parts usage, and time spent into our Computerized Maintenance Management System
Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, including the proper use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Report any workplace hazards immediately to the safety team.
Nitec in Engineering required.
Diploma, or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or a related field is highly preferred.
0–2 years of experience in a maintenance, technical support, or facilities role. (Recent graduates with strong internship/co-op experience are encouraged to apply).
Foundational understanding of mechanical, electrical systems.
Proficiency with basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, calipers).
Basic computer literacy and comfort learning new software systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting issues and interacting with team members/clients.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 15kg, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks.
Comfortable working in various environments, which may include [e.g., confined spaces, working at heights, exposure to loud noises, or outdoor weather conditions].
