Job summary

Airwallex in Singapore is seeking an Engineering Lead / Manager for the KYC team to build and optimize scalable onboarding, risk detection, and automation tools. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with product, compliance, and operations to deliver robust technical solutions at scale.

You’ll lead architecture discussions, drive reliability and performance, and apply AI/ML techniques to detect fraud and streamline processes in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• At least 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong ability to understand complex business processes and propose technical solutions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills across teams.
• Solid software engineering skills with backend or frontend in Kotlin/Java/React/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience in building scalable automation/workflow systems.
• Self-driven and proactive in identifying problems and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation tools to improve onboarding and operations.
• Develop AI and data-driven solutions to predict risks and prevent fraud.
• Collaborate with product, operations, compliance and other engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their growth as the team scales.
