Job summary

Catholic Welfare Services, Singapore is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for St Joseph's Home in Jurong West. You will assist in daily meal preparation, vegetable cutting, dishwashing and store stocking, while maintaining high cleanliness across kitchen areas.

The role requires flexibility to work a 6-day roster including early shifts, with meals provided during shifts and insurance benefits for staff. Suitable candidates with PSLE/WISE or equivalent are invited to apply.

Qualifications

• PSLE/WISE certification or equivalent.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of basic English required.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation, production and serving of meals, including daily sandwich prep and vegetable cutting.
• Perform cutting of vegetables, re-stocking, packing and arranging stores, washing dishes and kitchen cleanup.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas.
• Assist in preparing soft diet and puree meals for residents.

Job description

St Joseph's Home, a Person-centred residential healthcare facility located in Jurong West, is redefining the way we take care of our elderly, and would like to invite suitable candidates to apply for the position of: KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Job Duties:

• Support the preparation, production and serving of meals (eg. In charge of daily preparation of sandwiches, to daily check and cut vegetables for next day’s usage, cut daily fruits and blend into puree, mince and puree food for residents’ daily meals)
• Perform cutting of vegetables, re-stocking, packing & arranging stores, washing of dishes, pots, utensils, including and other assigned general kitchen tasks.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all the kitchen areas.
• Assist in the preparation of soft diet and pureed meals.

Requirements:

• PSLE, WISE certification or equivalent
• Able to adapt, work well independently and be an effective team player
• Ability to understand, speak and read basic English.
• Able to perform shift duty for 6-day rostered week (1st shift starts at 5am to 1pm, 2nd shift starts at 9am to 5pm) including weekends and public holidays.
