Junior Trader / Investment Analyst (Japanese Speaking) (REF: 37819) , East Singapore
Our Client, a Singapore-based investment management firm specializing in Japanese equity investments, is looking for a Junior Trader / Investment Analyst.
This is a front-office position combining trading, investment analysis, market research and quantitative problem-solving.
【Responsibilities】
Trading & Market Execution
- Support the execution of investment decisions, primarily in Japanese equity markets.
- Monitor market movements, liquidity, order flow and trading conditions.
- Execute and manage orders in accordance with investment strategies and instructions.
- Monitor live positions and provide timely market updates to senior investment professionals.
- Coordinate with brokers and other market counterparties.
Investment Research & Analysis
- Analyse companies, industries, market data and broader economic developments.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support investment decisions.
- Identify market trends, anomalies and potential investment opportunities.
- Prepare concise analysis and research findings for the investment team.
- Continuously develop a deeper understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.

【Requirements & Preferences】
(Advantageous)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, in a quantitative or STEM-related discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics / Finance with strong quantitative exposure
- In experience candidates are welcome.
- Strong numerical, analytical and logical problem-solving ability.
- Japanese language (JLPT N1 level or above) is proficiency to liaise with Japanese collegues and clients and support Japanese market coverage.
- The following would be advantageous but are not mandatory:
- Strong academic background from a highly regarded university.
- Programming experience, particularly Python, SQL, VBA or similar tools.
- Experience with data analysis, machine learning, automation or system development.
- Personal experience studying or trading financial markets.
- Knowledge of equities, derivatives or quantitative finance.
- Experience in research, academic competitions, programming competitions or other activities demonstrating exceptional analytical ability
