Job summary

JTE Recruit Pte Ltd client is seeking an Electrical/Automation Engineer in Singapore (Kovan) for design, programming and commissioning of automation projects. You will develop control panels, wiring schematics and I/O lists while supporting FAT/SAT testing and handover to customers.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics and at least 1 year of PLC/HMI experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD or EPLAN and reading diagrams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience with PLC / HMI systems in automation/panel projects.
• Ability to read single line diagrams, wiring schematics and control panel drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and review electrical control panel drawings, wiring schematics, cable schedules and termination diagrams using AutoCAD or EPLAN.
• Assist in developing control philosophies, I/O lists and cause & effect matrices to support automation and control system design.
• Configure, program and troubleshoot PLC systems, including control logic, interlocks, sequences and alarm management.
• Integrate and commission field devices such as sensors, transmitters, motors, soft starters and VFDs with PLC/SCADA communications.
• Perform FAT/SAT, loop checks, I/O verification and system troubleshooting for successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors and site personnel to support installation, testing, documentation and handover.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and review electrical control panel drawings, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and termination diagrams using AutoCAD or EPLAN.
• Assist in the development of control philosophies, I/O lists, and cause & effect matrices to support automation and control system design.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems, including implementation of control logic, interlocks, operational sequences, and alarm management functions.
• Integrate and commission field devices such as sensors, transmitters, motors, soft starters, and VFDs, ensuring reliable communication with PLC/SCADA systems.
• Perform factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), loop checks, I/O verification, and system troubleshooting to ensure successful project delivery and commissioning.
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and site personnel to support installation, testing, documentation, and handover of automation and control systems.

Requirements:

• Min. Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
• Min. 1 year of experience in working with PLC / HMI systems in Automation / Panel projects
• Min. 1 year of hands-on experience in PLC Programming is required
• Ability to read single line diagrams, wiring schematics, and control panel drawings
• Possess knowledge in loop testing, panel QA, and basic commissioning activities
