Job summary

Search Personnel Pte Ltd is seeking an Automation Engineer - PLC Programming in Ang Mo Kio. The role focuses on PLC and HMI programming within a semiconductor/electronics context, with responsibilities across SDLC, design, testing, and customer coordination.

Candidate should have a diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation and experience in automation. Salary up to 6200 SGD monthly with bonus, medical benefits and 14 days annual leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in automation or semiconductor industry is required.
• Strong PLC/HMI programming skills and platform familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Follow SDLC to develop high quality software meeting user requirements.
• Draft functional and detailed design specifications.
• Interpret client requirements and ensure design params meet budgets and schedules.
• Participate in control system requirement analysis and design electrical schematics.
• Source electrical components, prepare BOM, program PLC/HMI, implement system, test and debug.
• Maintain detailed documentation and coordinate with departments to meet customer needs.
• Perform basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
• Analyze existing software for improvements and ensure on-time issue resolution.
• Support remote and on-site troubleshooting at customer sites.

Job description

• Position: Automation Engineer -PLC Programming
• Location: Ang Mo Kio (Few bus stops from Yio Chu Kang MRT)
• Working hours: 5 days' work week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm
• Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $6200 + Bonus + Medical + 14 days annual leave
• Duration: Permanent

Main Responsibilities:

• Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to develop a high quality and maintainable software that meets user's requirement.
• Drafting of functional and detailed design specifications
• Based on client requirements, interpret and identify design parameters, ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget to meet project requirements and schedules
• Participate in control system requirement analysis
• Design, create detailed electrical schematics drawings and updating.
• Source and select Electrical Components, Preparation, and Issue of BOM Software Programming (PLC and HMI), System Implementation, Testing, Debugging.
• Maintain detailed documentation
• Coordinate with relevant department to meet customer requirement and keep to project schedules
• Perform basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting
• Analyze existing software and identify areas for modification and improvement
• Keep to project schedules and resolve software and electrical issues in a timely manner
• Support Remote and On-site troubleshooting at customer's sites

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related Engineering discipline
• Relevant experience in automation or semiconductor industry is required
• Strong programming skills in PLC and HMI systems
• Experience with PLC/HMI platforms (e.g. Omron, Mitsubishi, or equivalent)
• Candidates with more experience may be considered for senior positions

Added Advantage:

• Programming skills in motion control, analog systems, PID, and process control
• Knowledge of fieldbus communication (e.g. Modbus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP)
