Job summary

The candidate will work with relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB), perform design and performance optimisations, and collaborate with analysts and QA to ensure feature quality. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree or professional qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Java development.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience with MySQL, MariaDB or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices for business applications and system integrations.
• Work with SQL databases, including database design and query optimisation.
• Work with business analysts and QA teams to develop and test application features.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate and resolve application issues.
• Support deployment activities and maintain technical documentation.
