Job summary

EPAM Systems Singapore is seeking a Java Backend Developer to design and build scalable backend services using microservices patterns, Kafka, and Azure.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and to model PostgreSQL data for optimal queries and reliability. You’ll participate in code reviews, testing, and production support to keep systems stable.

Qualifications

• Java backend development experience with clean coding practices.
• Experience with microservices architecture and service-to-service communication.
• Strong RESTful API design including versioning and reliability.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Kafka for messaging, streaming or event-driven design.
• PostgreSQL schema design, queries and tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and build back-end services in Java using microservices patterns.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Implement event streaming and messaging using Apache Kafka.
• Build, deploy and tune cloud-native workloads on Microsoft Azure.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, queries and performance optimizations.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing and release activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause fixes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for services and APIs.
