Job summary

Our client, a leading international private banking group, seeks an experienced Assistant Relationship Manager to support a team servicing high-net-worth clients across Asia, with emphasis on Japanese-speaking clientele.

You will handle onboarding, KYC, investment execution, portfolio administration, and cross-border coordination, working with Relationship Managers and regional offices to deliver excellent client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Banking, or related discipline
• 3–5 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, or assistant relationship management
• Good understanding of private banking products and services including investment, FX, and discretionary portfolios
• Familiarity with onboarding, AML/KYC, account documentation, and compliance for wealth management
• CACS Papers 1 and 2 or equivalent licensing would be advantageous
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Meticulous attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Client-centric mindset with strong service and relationship management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across front/middle/support offices
• Professional proficiency in Japanese required for Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality client servicing and day-to-day administrative support to Relationship Managers
• Act as a key contact for client-related operational matters across jurisdictions
• Support onboarding processes including account opening, KYC, AML documentation
• Prepare, review, and maintain client documentation for compliance and accuracy
• Facilitate execution of investments and banking transactions across products
• Coordinate with Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Custody teams for settlements
• Assist in monitoring client portfolios and maintaining investment records
• Support Relationship Managers with client presentations and investment proposals
• Collaborate with specialists across advisory, lending, trust and wealth planning
• Liaise with regional and overseas offices on account maintenance and cross-border matters
• Coordinate portfolio transfers, cash movements, and other client servicing activities
• Contribute to process improvements and system implementation to enhance efficiency
