Job summary

BHID (Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled) is seeking an Assistant Manager, IT to support the Head of IT in managing IT infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, user support, vendors and day-to-day operations. The role also serves as second-in-command, handling operational IT matters in the Head’s absence.

You will supervise IT staff, coordinate deployments, oversee budgets, ensure data protection and regulatory compliance, and drive technology refreshes and digitalisation projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining servers, networks, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, endpoints and storage.
• Ability to implement security controls and respond to incidents.
• Experience reviewing access controls and conducting user reviews.
• Ability to develop IT policies, procedures and records for audits.
• Experience in budgeting and vendor coordination for IT initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor servers, networks, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, endpoints, storage and other systems; troubleshoot issues and coordinate upgrades.
• Manage security controls such as endpoint protection, MFA, VPN and access controls; review security alerts and incidents.
• Manage user accounts and permissions; conduct access reviews and off-boarding changes.
• Create and maintain IT policies and documentation; support compliance and audits.
• Oversee day-to-day IT support and provide technical guidance for escalated incidents.
• Support IT infrastructure and digitalisation projects, including vendor coordination.
• Obtain quotations, manage vendors/ renewals, and assess solutions for security and cost.
• Assist with IT budgets and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
• Monitor backups, run restoration tests and assist DR procedures.
• Maintain IT documentation and prepare management reports on IT performance and risks.
