Job summary

SEARCH INDEX PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced network engineer to manage and support enterprise infrastructure in a 24/7 production environment, focusing on AWS networking and hybrid connectivity between on‑premises and cloud.

You will design, implement, and monitor VPCs, VPNs, and Direct Connect, manage firewalls, and ensure high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / IT
• 3+ years in enterprise network engineering or network operations
• Hands-on AWS networking experience (VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, L2/L3 networking, routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs
• Experience with enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point) and load balancers
• Familiar with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, CloudWatch, Wireshark)

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure in a 24/7 production environment
• Install, configure, maintain, and monitor network hardware and software
• Design, implement, and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and AWS cloud environments (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Configure and maintain network security controls (firewalls, security groups, NACLs)
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot connectivity and latency issues
• Support incident management, RCA, and network recovery activities
• Implement network changes following change management procedures, including validation and rollback planning
• Coordinate with telecom providers, vendors, and external partners for connectivity and issue resolution
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and failover testing
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and continuous improvement
• Provide after-hours support for planned maintenance, deployments, and critical incidents

Job Scope:

• Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers in a 24/7 production environment
• Install, configure, maintain, and monitor network hardware and software to ensure high availability and optimal performance
• Design, implement, and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and AWS cloud environments, including VPC, VPN, and Direct Connect
• Configure and maintain network security controls such as firewalls, security groups, network segmentation, and access control
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and network-related issue
• Support incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and network recovery activities
• Implement network changes following change management procedures, including validation and rollback planning
• Coordinate with telecom providers, vendors, and external partners for connectivity, provisioning, and issue resolution
• Support disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning, and failover testing
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and recommend continuous improvements
• Provide after-hours support for planned maintenance, deployments, and critical incidents when required

Requirements:

• Possess a Degree / Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or a related discipline
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer – Associate, Check Point, or Fortinet are advantageous
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in enterprise network engineering or network operations within hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS networking, including VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs, VPN, and Direct Connect
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and network security best practices
• Experience managing enterprise firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point) and load balancers
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, CloudWatch, Wireshark, and traceroute
• Experience supporting high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skill
• Able to work independently and provide after-hours support when required
