Job summary

ASE SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced engineer to drive equipment automation across assembly and test manufacturing.

You will design, develop, deploy, and maintain EAPs, implement SECS/GEM integration, and support parameter management to ensure reliable operation. You will integrate new production equipment into the factory automation ecosystem, collaborate with vendors, conduct buyoffs and FATs, and ensure robust data exchange with manufacturing systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE/ME.
  • 2–8 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or automation.
  • Experience in OSAT, wafer fabrication, electronics or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Secs/Gem and Semi E84.
  • Programming: C#, Python

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Automation Development
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Equipment Automation Programs (EAP) for assembly and test manufacturing equipment.
  • Implement equipment integration using industry-standard protocols such as SECS/GEM.
  • Support equipment recipe download/upload, remote control, and process parameter management.
  • Integrate new production equipment into the factory automation ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to develop and validate automation requirements.
  • Perform equipment buyoff, qualification, and factory acceptance testing.
  • Ensure seamless data exchange between equipment and manufacturing systems.
  • Provide 24/7 support (on-call when required) for equipment automation issues impacting production.
  • Troubleshoot communication failures between equipment and host systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Monitor EAP system health and equipment connectivity status.
  • Develop automation features to improve productivity, OEE, traceability, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Implement smart factory initiatives including Automated lot dispatching and Real-time equipment monitoring.
  • Predictive maintenance data collection.
  • Support digitalization and manufacturing analytics projects.

Responsibilities

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.

  • 2 to 8 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, factory automation, or industrial automation.

  • Experience in OSAT, wafer fabrication, electronics manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Strong knowledge of equipment automation protocols such as Secs/Gem, Semi E84.

  • Experience in programming languages such as C#, python, etc.
